Description
This study proved that the salt leached silk fibroin scaffolds can be developed by using more than 10 wt% aqueous silk fibroin solutions. There were some previous studies shown that this was impossible. This work has shown that the developed silk fibroin scaffolds can combine adequate mechanical properties with a unique morphology which make them suitable to be used in tissue engineering applications, particularly for cartilage and meniscus regeneration.
