Description
The implementation of the Bologna Process in Europe led to major changes in higher education in Portugal, including a shift towards student-centered teaching as well as learning and new approaches and tools to be used in education, such as e-learning, b-learning and m-learning. This has been a challenging and demanding process and not all learners have easily adapted to these new demands and opportunities. Based on foreign language learner experience at a Portuguese university where the Moodle platform is now an important tool for learning and teaching within different contexts, this study aims to identify different learner identities and typologies within Portuguese higher education context; to assess the relevance of online contents and resources for these students by means of a specially designed questionnaire; understand what demotivates students and provide sustainable solutions for different learner needs.
