Rabdomiomas Cardíacos no Recém-Nascido: Um Caso Clínico

Development of design software for plain masonry buildings

Marques, Rui Filipe Pedreira; Gouveia, João P.; Lourenço, Paulo B.; Leão, C.

Paper 144 ; As result of a benchmarking process on foreign computer codes for design of masonry buildings, the guidelines for the development of a Portuguese design software for plain masonry buildings are presented. The related software was inspired on Italian methods, particularly the RAN, and allows to perform a global response analysis of buildings, based on the assumption of a cumulative response of store...

A twenty-year survey of dermatophytoses in Braga, Portugal.

Valdigem, GL; Pereira, T; Macedo, C; Duarte, ML; Oliveira, P; Ludovico, P; Sousa-Basto, A; Leão, C; Rodrigues, F

BACKGROUND: Modifications in social habits together with the increase of emigration have contributed not only to increased dermatophytoses but also to an altered etiology. During the last few years, Braga has suffered a radical change from a rural to a cosmopolitan life-style. METHODS: A statistical study of dermatophytoses and the etiology of their causative agents was performed by a retrospective survey carri...

Yeasts as a model for assessing the toxicity of the fungicides Penconazol, Cymo...

Ribeiro, I. C.; Veríssimo, I.; Moniz, L.; Cardoso, H.; Sousa, M. J.; Soares, A. M. V. M.; Leão, C.

In the present work the sensitivity of yeast strains of Kluyveromyces marxianus, Pichia anomala, Candida utilis, Schizosaccharomyces pombe and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, to the fungicides cymoxanil, penconazol, and dichlofluanid, was evaluated. Dichlofluanid induced the most negative effects, whereas penconazol in general was not very toxic. Overall, our results show that the parameters IC50 for specific respira...

Leão, C.P.; Pais, L.S.; Rodrigues, A.E.

The simulated moving bed (SMB)technology is amature one with above 100 applications in chemical industry (UOP sorbex processes). Now it is finding applications in the chemistry and pharmaceuticals (chiral separations). In this work, separation is coupled with reaction. The test systems is enzymatic inversion of sucrose coupled with a Ca2 resin as adsorbent. Modeling, simulation and operation of a pilot plants i...
