Liposomes entrapping nickel-based magnetic nanoparticles (magnetoliposomes) were prepared and characterized.
New six fluorescent 1,3-diarylureas linked by C-C Suzuki coupling to the 6-position of the methyl 3-aminothieno[3,2-b]pyridine-2-carboxylate moiety were prepared by reaction of the amino groups on the ortho or meta positions relative to the C-C bond of the Suzuki coupling products, with different para-substituted arylisocyanates (H, OMe, CN), in high to excellent yields. The fluorescence properties of the 1,3-d...
The main objective of this work was to attain a deeper knowledge of contact lenses (CL) optical properties and to understand the influence of CL power on other properties which can affect the optical performance and compromise the ocular physiology.
In this work, magnetic nanoparticles of magnetite were prepared by soft chemical methods, using different surfactants as templating media. These nanoparticles were either covered with a lipid bilayer, forming dry magnetoliposomes, or entrapped in liposomes - aqueous magnetoliposomes.
In this work, magnetic nanoparticles of nickel core with silica shell were prepared by soft chemical methods, using tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and different surfactants as templating media. These nanoparticles were either covered with a lipid bilayer or entrapped in liposomes.
Several arylalanine derivatives containing fluorescent groups were prepared in good yields using a rhodium catalysed conjugate addition of arylboronic acids to N,N-diprotected and N-monoprotected dehydroalanines. The best conditions for these reactions require the use of an excess of aryl boronic acid (4 equiv.), [Rh(COD)2]BF4 as catalyst and CsF as base in dioxane:H2O (10:1) at 110 ºC. These conditions were al...
Submitted to the European Journal of Organic Chemistry ; New bis-(oxazolyl)pyridine ligands for Ln(III) ions were prepared using a expeditious methodology from threonine and dipicolinic acid chloride. The synthetic strategy includes a dehydration step to give a bis-dehydroaminobutyric acid derivative followed by bromination and cyclization with DBU. Photophysical studies of Eu(III) and Tb(III) complexes of th...
Fluorescence properties of new potential antitumoral 6-heteroarylthieno[3,2-b]pyridines, recently synthesized, were studied in solution and in nanoliposomes of different compositions. The results indicate that these compounds can be transported in the hydrophobic region of the lipid bilayer. The liposomal formulation Egg-PC:Ch:DPPG (7:3:1) is the one with smaller size and lowest polydispersity.
Photophysical properties of 2-quinolinones and coumarins, including peptide derivatives, were determined. Fluorescence emission and anisotropy measurements of compounds incorporated in lipid vesicles were performed. Our studies indicate that these compounds may be used as fluorescent probes for peptides and lipid membranes.
Magnetic nanoparticles of magnetite and of nickel core with silica shell were prepared and either covered with a lipid bilayer or entrapped in liposomes, forming magnetoliposomes. New potential antitumoral 1,3-diarylurea derivatives of thieno[3,2-b]pyridines were then encapsulated in liposomes and magnetoliposomes and their photophysical behavior was investigated.
