Resumo publicado na página 141; Artigo completo publicado em CD (Digital Proceedings) anexo à obra impressa This paper has the purpose to delimit the Political, Economic and Educational Policies associated with the Estado Novo as well as providing a vertical interpretation between these themes and the architecture of two case-studies – Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and Cidade Universitária de Lisboa (CUL). Architectonic and Urban options are explored while establishing relationships between these and the modernity ordered by Estado Novo while patron searching for recognition through the construction of equipments reflecting both its Monumental character as well as an Interventive and Modern one; later on this position is inflected aiming then to achieve an image associated with Tradition, Nationality and an Extra-temporary one.
