O presente trabalho foca a importância da pesca para a Economia Nacional ao
mesmo tempo que caracteriza o sector das pescas, abrindo uma nova
perspectiva de análise. O objectivo é o de fornecer e concentrar informação
que se possa traduzir numa mais-valia para o crescimento da economia
Portuguesa.
É apresentada uma revisão de literatura, que sustenta a importância da pesca
para a subsistência e crescimento das populações. Por outro lado, expõe a
actual situação da pesca Europeia definida por algumas tendências, sendo que
ao nível nacional é feita um enquadramento de acordo com o contexto
europeu.
Ao nível do Comércio Internacional, verifica-se que Portugal apresenta
Vantagens Comparativas Reveladas no pescado, do mesmo estudo obtiveramse
os mercados que estão a apresentar os maiores crescimentos das
Importações e são apresentados resultados que expõem o potencial de
crescimento das exportações portuguesas de pescado, destacando-se os
mercados de: Itália, França, Tailândia, Alemanha, Rússia, Reino Unido,
Holanda, Coreia do Sul, EUA, Suécia e Bélgica.
Ao nível regional, são analisados os impactos socioeconómicos da pesca, na
Ria de Aveiro, para um concelho específico (Murtosa). A principal conclusão é
de que existem cerca de 800 pescadores artesanais ainda em actividade, que
geram um rendimento líquido, originário da pesca lagunar no valor de
1.760.000€/anuais. This paper focuses on the importance of fisheries to the national economy at
the same time that characterizes the fishing industry, opening a new
perspective of the review. The objective is to provide and focus the information
that can be translated into an asset for the growth of the Portuguese economy.
A literature review that is presented, support the significance of fishing in order
to ensure the survival and population growth. On the other hand, explains the
current state of European fisheries defined by trends, however, at the national
level, is made a framework according to the European context.
In terms of international trade, it appears that Portugal has Revealed
Comparative Advantage (RCA) in the fish field, still, from the same study, were
obtained the markets that are showing the largest increases of imports and
presents results that expose the potential growth of Portuguese exports of fish,
highlighting the markets of: Italy, France, Thailand, Germany, Russia, UK,
Netherlands, South Korea, USA, Sweden and Belgium.
At the regional level, there were analyzed the socio-economic impacts of
fishing, in the Ria de Aveiro, for a specific and concrete county (Murtosa). The
main conclusion is that there are about 800 craft fishermen still active, which
generate a net income original from the lagoon fishing, in the amount of €
