Este estudo aborda o tema da coesão textual nas PEA, tendo como objetivo fundamental a análise dos fenómenos de coesão nas produções textuais orais e escritas de crianças com PEA, fundamentadas em imagens. Assim, procedeu-se à recolha de textos narrativos elaborados por seis crianças (três com PEA e três sem a referida patologia), com base em imagens. Analisando os resultados obtidos, pode concluir-se que as crianças com PEA têm maior dificuldade em elaborar textos coesos do que as crianças sem esta patologia. Considera-se, similarmente, que as crianças com PEA revelam características distintas na produção de textos orais e escritos, ao nível da coesão textual. Admite-se, ainda, que as crianças com PEA mostram preferência por tipos de relação coesiva distintos das crianças sem esta patologia. This study addresses the issue of textual cohesion in ASD, its main objective being the analysis of the phenomena of cohesion in image-based oral and written textual productions by children with ASD. Narrative texts were collected, created by six children (three with ASD and three without the pathology), based on images. From the analysis of the results obtained, it may be concluded that the children with ASD have more difficulties producing cohesive texts than the children without the pathology. Similarly the children with ASD show distinct characteristics in the production of oral and written texts, with regard to the text cohesion.
