Supervisão de estudantes em ensino clínico : a intervenção do tutor

O ensino clínico na formação inicial de enfermagem, é um momento de consolidação de saberes teóricos e de aquisição de saberes práticos em contexto real de trabalho. Este momento de formação é supervisionado por enfermeiros da prática clínica, o qual designamos por tutor. Este tutor assume um papel muito importante no processo de formação do estuante de enfermagem. O objectivo deste estudo é compreender como são indicados e que critérios fundamentam a escolha dos tutores que supervisionam o estuante em ensino clínico. Participaram do nosso estudo três enfermeiros docentes da Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto e doze enfermeiros, quatro enfermeiros chefes e oito tutores, do Instituto Português de Oncologia Francisco Gentil do Porto. Para a recolha de dados recorremos a entrevista estruturada, constituída por cinco blocos temático foi elaborada por nós. As quinze entrevistas foram sujeitas a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Da informação obtida podemos constatar que o ensino clínico é considerado um momento de formação muito importante na formação dos futuros enfermeiros. O tutor que acompanha o estudante em ensino clínico é designado pelo enfermeiro chefe do serviço onde decorre o ensino clínico. Os critérios que estão na base da escolha destes tutores são a experiencia profissional, a competência e a formação. Verificamos que os tutores concordam com os critérios de escolha., no entanto referem a necessidade de formação que os dote de competências pedagógicas para melhor desempenhar a função. Também põem em evidência a necessidade de melhorar a comunicação e uniformizar a linguagem entre as duas instituições. O estudo aponta para a necessidade de parceria entre as instituições, co-responsabilizando-as na formação dos tutores que ajudam a formar os que, hoje são estudantes, mas amanha serão os profissionais da instituição onde desenvolveram o ensino clínico. ABSTRACT: Clinical training in nursing training, is a time of consolidation of theoretical knowledge and acquire practical knowledge in the real world of work. This time, the training is supervised by nurses in clinical practice, which we call tutor. The tutor takes a very important role in the formation process of nursing students. The aim of this study is to understand how they are appointed and what criteria underlying the choice of tutors who supervise students in clinical training. In our study participated three nursing faculty of the School of Nursing of Porto and twelve nurses, four nurses and eight tutors chiefs of the Portuguese Institute of Oncology Francisco Gentil Porto. To collect data we resort to structured interview consisting of five blocks theme was done by us. The fifteen interviews were subject to technical content analysis. From the information obtained it can be seen that the clinical training is considered a time of training very important in the training of future nurses. The tutor who accompanies the student in clinical education is appointed by the head nurse of the service which follows the clinical training. The criteria underlying the choice of tutors are professional experience, competence and training. We found that tutors agree on the selection criteria. However they refer the need of formation that would endow them with teaching skills to better perform their function. They also highlight the need for better communication and standardize the language between the two institutions. The study highlights the need for partnership between the institutions jointly responsible in the training of tutors who help form those who are students today, but tomorrow will be the professionals at the institution where they developed the clinical training Mestrado em Supervisão
