Nesta dissertação, partindo de um corpus textual constituído por formas literárias breves de autoria feminina (conto, crónica, fragmento), pretende-se averiguar as estratégias temáticas e técnico-narrativas associadas à representação do envelhecimento.
Para além da sua ampla variedade temática e processual, a análise dos textos selecionados de Fernanda Botelho, Maria Isabel Barreno, Maria Judite de Carvalho e Teolinda Gersão permitiu evidenciar o predomínio expressivo de figuras femininas, inscritas em contexto urbano, que entre si partilham experiências de declínio físico, alienação e insulamento. In this dissertation, by focusing on a collection of short literary forms written by female authors (short stories, newspaper columns, fragments), we seek to investigate the thematic and narrative strategies shaping the fictional representation of old age.
Besides making evident a broad variety of themes and narrative devices, the analysis of selected texts by Fernanda Botelho, Maria Isabel Barreno, Maria Judite de Carvalho, and Teolinda Gersão has revealed the significant prevalence of female protagonists living in an urban context and sharing similar experiences of physical decay, seclusion and solitude.
