No presente ano de 2013, a Câmara Municipal de Águeda procura
(re)descobrir e (re)criar o bem estar das crianças, coloca em curso um plano
para a implementação das Cidades Amigas das Crianças. Impulsionando um
investimento em projetos que visam promover o (auto) conhecimento e
reconhecimento das crianças, assiste-se a uma redefinição da sua condição,
enquanto sujeitos de direito e atores sociais a respeitar e valorizar. No sentido
de uma mudança social significativa, foram levados a cabo projetos de
investigação-ação participativa, contando com a opinião das próprias crianças
enquanto investigadoras. Neste projeto, estabelecemos como objetivos: (i)
compreender a perceção das crianças relativamente aos seus direitos com
base nos seus conhecimentos e reflexões; (ii) explorar formas de
(auto)organização das crianças como sujeito coletivo a ser ouvido na cidade;
e (iii) favorecer a inserção da voz das crianças na dinâmica das CAC como
forma de participação ativa.
Os dados deste projeto foram gerados através de encontros semanais com
sete crianças com idades compreendidas entre os 10 e os 12 anos, no serviço
de ATL da Casa do Povo de Valongo do Vouga, recorrendo a um tempo
residual e, onde o papel das crianças é pouco definido.
As três etapas que integraram este projeto de intervenção social assinalaram
os diferentes momentos do percurso deste trabalho, criando ocasiões em que
as crianças puderam participar, exercendo os seus direitos enquanto cidadãos.
Com a emergência desta nova mentalidade de protagonismo infantil e no
sentido de dar visibilidade à participação das crianças, aceitámos o convite
para nos deslocarmos e procedermos a uma reflexão, junto com os
representantes da Câmara Municipal de Águeda. Este encontro encorajou a
criação de um jornal, pelos investigadores, com vista à partilha, das opiniões e
reflexões emergentes da sua participação. This year, 2013, the City Hall of Águeda searches to discover and recreate
children’s well-being, it puts into practice the implementation plan of the Child
Friendly Cities. Promoting an investment in projects aiming the (self)
recognition and recognition of children, it is witnessed a redefinition of their
condition, as subjects with rights and social actors that we must respect and
value.
Towards a significant social change, projects of participatory action research
were carried out, being the children themselves the researchers and giving
their opinions. In this way, the aim of this essay is to: (i) understand children’s
perception on their rights, based on their knowledge and reflections, (ii) explore
ways of children’s (self) organization as a collective subject to be listened to in
the city, and (iii) promote the integration of children's voices in the dynamics of
the Child Friendly Cities as an active participation.
The information from this project was gathered through weekly meetings, with
seven children from 10 to 12 years old, attending the services of after-school
recreation centers in the “Casa do Povo de Valongo do Vouga”. Here, where
the role of the children is poorly defined, we used a residual time.
This project of social intervention took place in three stages, which marked
different moments in the course of this essay and provided the occasions for
children’s participation, in order to exercise their rights as citizens.
With this emerging mentality about children’s role and in order to stand out
children’s participation, we accepted the invitation to proceed a reflection, along
with representatives of the Municipality of Águeda. This meeting encouraged
the creation of a newspaper, which will allow sharing the investigators’ opinions
