O presente trabalho dissertativo consiste na proposta de um sistema
que visa a reabilitação da Avenida Doutor Lourenço Peixinho através
do Design Estratégico, propondo a ocupação do edificado
abandonado ao longo desta via, com serviços e espaços culturais que
divulguem, exponham e valorizem o património Aveirense.
A atual situação da Avenida, artéria central da cidade de Aveiro, é
consequência de diversos fatores de índole urbanística, social,
ambiental e organizacional. Embora se tenha verificado a existência
de esforços por parte do Município e da sociedade civil, estes
parecem não ter sido suficientes para inverter um processo
aparentemente de abandono.
O Design, enquanto disciplina de índole teórica e prática, é talvez das
áreas que mais anseia interagir com os problemas presentes na
sociedade contemporânea, tentando encontrar soluções a partir de
oportunidades, quer no campo social, quer no próprio território.
Assim, esta dissertação, enquanto projeto de mestrado na área do
Design, parte de uma temática atual como o abandono dos centros
históricos urbanos. As cidades e os seus sistemas de gestão
convencional têm apresentado problemas no acompanhamento da
metamorfose que ocorre a um ritmo arrebatador nas sociedades que
habitam as grandes urbes.
Ao propor a reabilitação através da ocupação do edificado e através
da valorização do património cultural, a intenção consiste em
contagiar toda a periferia urbana da cidade de Aveiro, recomendando
a interação com entidades, instituições e associações existentes na
cidade. Em síntese, ao projetar o sistema “De Peixe em Peixe”,
pretende-se impulsionar um movimento de regeneração em cadeia
por toda a cidade. The present dissertative work consists in the proposal for a system
that aims the rehabilitation of Avenida Doutor Lourenço Peixinho
through the Strategic Design, proposing the occupation of abandoned
buildings along this route, with services and cultural spaces that
discloses, exposes and values the patrimony inherent to Aveiro.
The current avenue's situation, central artery in Aveiro, is a
consequence of several factors of urban, social, environmental and
organizational nature. Although we noted the existence of efforts by
the municipality and civil society, these seemed to have been
insufficient in the reverse of a process apparently of abandonment.
Design, as a discipline of theoretical and practical nature, is perhaps
one of the areas that more yearn to interact with the living problems in
today's society, trying to find solutions from opportunities, both in the
social field, as well in its own territory.
Therefore, this dissertation, as a master's project in the area of
Design, starts from a current theme, as it is the abandonment of
historic urban centres. The cities and their conventional management
systems have been showing problems monitoring the metamorphosis
that occurs at a fast speed in the societies that inhabits large cities.
Proposing the rehabilitation through the occupation of the building and
through the promotion of cultural heritage, the intention consists in
infecting the entire urban periphery of Aveiro, recommending the
interaction with existing entities, institutions and associations in the
city. In summary, when designing the system "De Peixe em Peixe”,
we intended to foster a movement of chain regeneration throughout
