Este capítulo pretende apresentar resumidamente a teoria das representações sociais e examinar o conceito de ‘sociedade pensante’ introduzido por Serge Moscovici. Analisam-se os processos de formação das representações sociais e as suas funções. Discutem-se as potencialidades da articulação de níveis de análise e as vantagens da triangulação metodológica. This paper aims to review the main aspects of the theory of social representations and to examine the concept of ‘thinking society’ introduced by Serge Moscovici. We analyze the process of construction of social representation and their functions. Then, we discuss the potential of the articulation of levels of analyze and we point out the advantages of methodological triangulation.
