In this seminar I will present some of the main findings that I achieved through a case study of the Portuguese courts’ use of blood tests and DNA profiling to determine the paternity of any child in the course of paternity suits. The main aim is to show how paternity investigation is a mean of controling women's sexual and procreative behaviour.
