O ensino da Estatística a um número maior de alunos e cada vez mais cedo, como vem acontecendo em
muitos países, entre os quais se encontra Portugal, releva a importância da realização de estudos sobre o
seu ensino, em particular as estratégias de ensino. É assim que neste estudo se apresenta, exemplifica a
implementação e avalia uma estratégia de ensino do tema de Estatística numa turma do 7º ano de escolaridade,
em que os alunos trabalharam um projeto estatístico, recorreram ao uso de tecnologia, especificamente
à folha de cálculo Excel, trabalharam em pares e participaram em discussões no grupo-turma.
Durante e após terem participado na realização do projeto, os alunos avaliaram a experiência em que
participaram, tendo-se verificado que, em geral, a estratégia foi muito bem aceite por eles, salientando-se,
de entre os diferentes aspetos da estratégia, a utilização da folha de cálculo e o trabalho em pares. The teaching of statistics to a greater number of students and increasingly early, as is happening in many
countries, among which is Portugal, highlights the importance of studies on their teaching, particularly
teaching strategies. So, in this study it presents, exemplifies the implementation and evaluates a strategy
for teaching the subject of Statistics in a class of the 7th grade, where pupils worked on a statistics project,
resorted to the use of technology, specifically the Excel spreadsheet, worked in pairs and participated in
class discussions. During and after participating in the realization of the project, the pupils evaluated the
experience in which they participated, and it was found that, in general, the strategy was very well accepted
by them, stressing, among the different aspects of the strategy, the use of the spreadsheet and the
work in pairs.
