Dissertação de mestrado integrado em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial A presente dissertação do Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial descreve um projeto
em ambiente empresarial realizado na empresa General Electric Power Controls Portugal. O objetivo
passava por implementar melhorias no atual armazém de materiais e, no abastecimento da área de
produção dos disjuntores.
Para a elaboração desta dissertação, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica sobre logística, gestão de
armazéns e operações de armazenagem, onde se abordou a importância que representam para o bom
funcionamento das empresas. Para além disso, foi também elaborada uma revisão sobre o Lean
Production, na qual se abordou a sua história, o seu conceito, as principais ferramentas e, ainda os
benefícios da sua implementação para as organizações.
Depois de concluída a fase da revisão bibliográfica, foi apresentada a empresa alvo de estudo e, foi
aplicada a metodologia Action-Research com o objetivo de realizar uma análise detalhada à situação
atual da empresa, na qual o autor interagiu desde os engenheiros que constituíam os departamentos
envolvidos até aos operadores que realizavam as tarefas alvo de estudo com o objetivo de diagnosticar
problemas, procurar soluções e implementação das mesmas.
Com base nesta análise, foi possível identificar os principais problemas nas áreas alvo de estudo, das
quais é possível destacar o desperdício de movimentações, perdas de tempo, excesso de stocks e
inexistente gestão visual. Com o objetivo de solucionar estes problemas, foram implementadas técnicas
e ferramentas de Lean Production, assim como, ferramentas criadas pelo autor. A aplicação destas
medidas, surtiu o efeito desejado, na medida em que foi possível obter diminuição de desperdícios com
movimentações, níveis de stock, erros de abastecimento e tempo de espera.
As propostas mais significativas foram a implementação de gestão visual em toda a área de produção
de disjuntores bem como na área de armazém de materiais e, a alteração da disposição dos materiais
em armazém. A gestão visual teve um excelente resultado no que a normalização de abastecimento diz
respeito e, a alteração da disposição dos materiais traduziu-se em ganho de espaço e simplicidade de
processos no armazém. The present dissertation of Master Integrated in Industrial Engineering and Management describes a
project in business environment developed in the company General Electric Power Controls Portugal.
The target was the implementation of improvements on the actual warehouse of materials and in the
supply of circuit breakers production area.
To achieve this goal, a literature review was made about logistics, warehouse management and storage
operations where it was discussed the influence that they represent for companies. Furthermore, was
also made a literature review about Lean Production where was referred the origins, the definition,
principal tools and the benefits of the implementation for organizations.
After the literature review, was presented the company and applied the methodology Action-Research
with the target of describe the actual situation of company where the author interacted with the
engineers of involved departments and with operators of the studied tasks.
Based on this analysis was possible to identify the principal problems in the studied areas, where is
possible to highlight the waste of motions, waste of time, excess of stock levels and the missing of
visual management. To find a solution for all problems were implemented skills and tools based on
Lean Production and tools designed by the author. The implementation of this actions meant
improvements according to the diminution of motion waste, stock levels, wrong supply and time of wait.
The most significant proposals were the implementation of visual management in all production area
and the new disposition of materials in warehouse. The visual management had an excellent result
related to the standardization of supply and new disposition of materials resulted in gain of space and
simplicity of processes.
