Dissertação de mestrado integrado em Arquitectura “A Propriedade Imaterial: paradigmas arquitetónicos na procura de uma arquitetura sensitiva” é um trabalho de investigação que busca a compreensão dos aspetos fenomenológicos que ligam a arquitetura ao sentimento. O tema enuncia o momento onde é gerada a ligação entre a parte física e espiritual da arquitetura; o termo que se irá utilizar para descrever este fenómeno é: propriedade imaterial. A narrativa constrói-se na procura desta propriedade imaterial, para a qual se reclama um papel essencial na definição de arquitetura, procurando identificar os elementos controláveis pela arte de projetar. Defende-se que a propriedade, embora surja apenas após a materialização da obra e subsequente contacto com o ser humano, é transversal ao projeto: está presente no primeiro momento conceptual, no momento de desenho e no desejo do arquiteto de tocar de forma particular o ser humano. Residindo num foro de caráter subjetivo, a tese apoia-se em conceitos base que contribuem para a elucidação de aspetos padrão, de modo a isolar e identificar com maior discernimento os elementos arquitetónicos chave para que possa ser gerada a propriedade imaterial da arquitetura. A abordagem propõem a definição individual dos elementos-chave, designados por paradigmas, que manifestem uma reflexão acerca das possibilidades de desenho arquitetónico, procurando sempre entender a relação que cada aspeto estabelece com a perceção humana e subsequente impacto emocional nos utilizadores das obras de arquitetura. Através da clarificação, das associações que os pormenores materiais da arquitetura estabelecem com os momentos intelectuais e sentimentais pretende-se estimular e despertar uma mentalidade arquitetónica; motivando os arquitetos a abordar a procura projetual da propriedade imaterial. “The Intangible Property: architectural paradigms in search of a sensitive architecture” is a research project that seeks understanding about the phenomenological aspects linking architecture and feelings. The theme states the moment that generates the link between the physical and spiritual parts of architecture; the term that will be used to describe this phenomenon is: intangible property. The narrative is built through a demand for the intangible property, which claims a key role in defining architecture, trying to identify the manageable elements in the art of architectural design. Is argued that the property, though only appears after the materialization of the building and subsequent contact with the human being, is transversal to the project: it’s present on the first conceptual moment, on the design act and on the architect's desire to touch the human being in a particular way. Being a point of view of subjective character, the argument rests on base concepts, which contributes for the elucidation of standard thoughts, in order to isolate and identify with greater insight the key architectural elements that enable to generate the intangible property of architecture. The taken approach proposes definition of the key individual elements, called paradigms, which express a reflection on the possibilities of architectural design, trying to understand the relation that each aspect establishes with the human perception and subsequent emotional impact on the people that use architectural buildings. Through clarification of associations that the material aspects of architecture establish with the intellectual and emotional moments, it is intended to stimulate and awake, architectural mentality, motivating architects to address the projectual demand of the intangible property.
