Actas do 3º Encontro de Arqueologia do Algarve, realizado em Silves, 20, 21 e 22 de Outubro de 2005 Neste artigo serão analisados sucessivamente os seguintes aspectos: 1 - antecedentes dos trabalhos arqueológicos realizados, localização da necrópole e respectiva metodologia de intervenção; 2 - resultados obtidos: aspectos arquitectónicos e construtivos; o faseamento interno da construção da necrópole; 3 - inventário dos materiais arqueológicos recolhidos e respectivo estudo comparado; 4 - discussão: integração cronológico-cultural da necrópole; 5 - aspectos rituais; 6 - conclusões: a necrópole do Cabeço da Vaca 1 no quadro das arquitecturas funerárias da I Idade do Ferro do sul do actual território português. ln this study, the following aspects will be analysed: 1 - the former archaeological studies performed on the site, the location of the necropolis and the methodology used in the excavation; 2 - the results obtained, including the archaeological and architectonic aspects as well as the successive internal phases of the necropolis; 3 - the inventory of the archeological materiais collected and their comparative study; 4 - the discussion, including the chronological and cultural fitting of the necropolis and the correlative ritual aspects: 5 - the conclusions, namely the necropolis of Cabeço da Vaca within the framework of the funerary architectures of the Early Iron Age of the south of the present portuguese territory.
