Animação da Leitura no Contexto da Animação Sociocultural

O mundo actual, o da sociedade da informação, é mais exigente, por isso não basta ao indivíduo ter acesso fácil e rápido à informação para que esta se transforme em conhecimento. Esta transformação só se opera se o indivíduo for capaz de interpretar, relacionar e associar essa mesma informação, capacidades que nem todos parecem possuir. Assim, no processo de construção do leitor é crucial a convivência e a cumplicidade com o material impresso para se passar da emergência da leitura ao prazer de ler. É nosso propósito, no presente estudo, reflectir sobre a importância da leitura, competência fundamental para o desenvolvimento do indivíduo e da sociedade, e sobre o papel da Animação Sociocultural enquanto metodologia activa imprescindível para a criação e aprofundamento de hábitos de leitura sólidos e para a promoção do prazer de ler, a fim de melhorar os níveis de literacia. Com este trabalho pretende-se contribuir para a divulgação de resultados de investigação sobre os hábitos de leitura (obtidos através de inquérito por questionário), designadamente entre os alunos/formandos dos Cursos EFA (Educação e Formação de Adultos) do Alto Tâmega, de modo a promover a alfabetização, a literacia e a formação contínua dos jovens/adultos. Para além disso, alerta-se para o papel fundamental do professor e do animador enquanto agentes de promoção e animação da leitura. The current world of the information society is more demanding and, requires more than a mere rapid and easy access to information so that this one becomes knowledge. This transformation occurs only if one can comprehend, relate and associate the very same information, and not everyone seems able to use this ability. Thus, in his construction process, the reader needs to be deeply familiar with the printed material, so that he goes from the emergency of reading to the pleasure of reading. With this work we aim at reflecting upon the importance of reading, a fundamental skill for the development of the individual and the society itself. It is also our purpose to reflect on the role of the Sociocultural Animation as an active methodology, necessary to the creation and deepening of solid reading habits as well as to the promotion of the pleasure of reading, in order to improve the levels of literacy. It is our hope to contribute to the disclosure of the research results on the reading habits (which were obtained through a survey based on a questionnaire) among students/trainees of the EFA courses (Education and training for adults) from the “Alto Tâmega” region, so that the literacy and continuous formation of the young/adults can be promoted. Moreover, we must focus on the fact that teachers and animators have a fundamental role as agents for the promotion and animation of reading.
