Description
Os investigadores quando abraçam um projecto seleccionam uma forma para conduzir e estruturar a investigação relativa ao projecto. A selecção, que pode ser influenciada pela comunidade científica em que estão inseridos, pelos objectivos do projecto ou outros factores que incidam sobre o trabalho, deve ser cuidada e efectuada após o conhecimento prévio das alternativas existentes.
Ao tentar identificar as alternativas ao seu alcance, o investigador vai tentar compreender as várias ferramentas e pontos de vista possíveis de adoptar para o desenvolvimento do seu projecto. Não poucas vezes essas alternativas são confusas e contraditórias.
Perante este cenário, é importante a existência de uma ferramenta que apresente a principal informação de forma organizada. Assim, o investigador de Sistemas de Informação terá então ao seu dispor para consulta, o leque de opções mais comuns e mais indicadas para desenvolver o seu trabalho assim como para caracterizar os estudos realizados. Nesta dissertação são estudados os diferentes instrumentos de investigação utilizados em Sistemas de Informação Organizacionais e, recorrendo à análise de dissertações e teses, é caracterizada a realidade da investigação nessa área, em Portugal. When researchers embrace a new project, they select a path and a structure to follow so as to do their research. This selection may be influenced by their scientific community, by project goals or by other relevant factors which affect their work, and should be carefully done after acknowledging all the available options. When trying to identify the possible choices, the researcher will consider several tools and possible perspectives they can use to carry out their project. At this moment they will note that most of the information is confusing and contradictory. Bearing this scenario in mind, it is important to find a new tool that presents the main information and its characterization. So, an Information Systems researcher can access the common choices and eventually the best one to embed in his project. This tool may also help him in assessing the choices made by other researchers. The goal is to study the different research tools used in Organizational Information Systems’ projects and basing on the results of dissertations and theses review, build a research characterization in that specific area in Portugal.
