Description
Tese de mestrado em Educação Artística, apresentada à Universidade de Lisboa através da Faculdade de Belas Artes, 2007 The subject of the thesis, The Visual Education in Basic Instruction: A Study of Compared Education, it had the objective to understand which are the challenges of the Artistic Education for 21st C entury. For this the methodology adopted was the comparative analysis of the Curriculum of Visual and Plastic Education referring to Basic Instruction (primary) of four European countries: Portugal, Spain, England and Finland. Through the comparison of the categories: objectives and strategies, abilities and contents of the Visual Education, referenced in the national curriculum of the countries. What we intended to do was verify the similarities and differences between them in order to analyze them on the basis of perspective theoreticians of the past and actual to verify its adequacy (with the focus in the Portuguese case) to the social necessities of the present and near future. As the Artistic Education isn’t separated of the general education, was carried through a geographic, historical framing and of the educative politics of each one of the countries in study. In the end we achieve that the Curriculum of the Nordic countries are near to what are the requirements of the society contemporary, whereas of the Latin countries still meet very rooted in practical traditional. We wait that this inquiry points some tracks to improve the construction of the future Portuguese curriculum and to alert the professors of Visual and Plastic Education for the new realities
