particular, no âmbito da Conjugalidade. Pretende-se, numa amostra de 652 indivíduos
portugueses casados ou em união de facto: 1) analisar as relações entre vinculação ao
cônjuge, proximidade conjugal e satisfação conjugal; 2) analisar as diferenças entre homens
e mulheres em cada uma das variáveis referidas e nas relações entre elas e; 3) verificar se a
vinculação ao cônjuge, proximidade e satisfação conjugal variam em função da escolaridade.
Os instrumentos utilizados foram a EASAVIC (Narciso e Costa, 1996), a IOS (Aron, Aron e
Smollan (1992) e A&QRI-S (Moreira, 1998). Encontraram-se correlações significativas
positivas entre todas as variáveis. No que diz respeito ao sexo, não se encontraram relações
significativas com nenhuma das variáveis isoladamente, porém, surgiram algumas diferenças
quando se correlacionaram as variáveis duas a duas. No que diz respeito ao nível de
escolaridade, verificaram-se correlações positivas significativas com as variáveis satisfação
conjugal e vinculação ao cônjuge e uma correlação negativa significativa com a variável
proximidade conjugal. Verificaram-se, ainda, correlações positivas significativas entre o
nível de escolaridade e as correlações entre as variáveis duas a duas. The current quantitative research is enclosed in the field of Family Psychology,
mainly in marital life. Our goals were, within a sample of 652 Portuguese married or living
in a common-law marriage subjects: 1) to analyse the relations between attachment to the
spouse, closeness and marital satisfaction; 2) to analyse the differences between men and
women in each of the referred variables and in the relations between them; 3) to verify
whether the attachment to spouse, closeness and marital satisfaction vary with the school
level. The following instruments were used: EASAVIC (“Evaluation of Satisfaction in Areas
of Marital Life Scale”; Narciso and Costa, 1996), IOS (Inclusion of Other in the Self Scale;
Aron, Aron and Smollan, 1992) and A & QRI-S (“Attachment to Father/Mother/Significant
other Scale”; Moreira, 1998). There were found significant positive correlations between all
the variables. With respect to the sex, no significant relations were found with none of the
variables separately, but some differences came up when the variables were correlated two by two. In what concerns the school level, significant positive correlations were verified with
the variables marital satisfaction and attachment to the spouse and a significant negative
correlation with the closeness variable. Furthermore, significant positive correlations were
verified between the school level and the correlations of the variables two by two.
