Mestrado em Psicologia Social e das Organizações Perante o aumento drástico de episódios de bullying, torna-se essencial compreender a forma como as vítimas de bullying lidam com este fenómeno. Neste seguimento, o presente estudo definiu como principal objectivo compreender a relação entre a crença no mundo justo (CMJ) e o bem-estar das vítimas de bullying, testando a mediação desta relação através das estratégias de coping a que as vítimas recorrem. Para testar esta hipótese procedeu-se à operacionalização das variáveis CMJ, Coping e Bem-estar através de um questionário, aplicado a uma amostra de vítimas de bullying (N=189) entre os 11 aos 19 anos. Os resultados indicam que a CMJ influencia positivamente o bem-estar das vítimas de bullying, e que esta relação é mediada pela estratégia de coping “assimilação da injustiça”. Conclui-se que as estratégias de coping, nomeadamente a “assimilação da injustiça”, detêm uma importância fundamental para as vítimas de bullying, permitindo a manutenção do seu bem-estar. With the increase of bullying phenomenon it is essential to understand the way that victims deal with these episodes. The main purpose of this study was to understand the relationship between the Belief in a Just World (BJW) and the well-being of the bullying victims, testing coping strategies as mediator of this relation. To test this hypothesis, a sample of students victims of bullying (N=189) between 11 and 19 years old completed one questionnaire intended to measure the variables BJW, Coping and Well-Being. Overall, the results support the hypothesis that personal BJW is positively correlated with well-being of bullying victims. This relation is mediated by the coping strategy “assimilation of injustice”. We conclude that coping has a fundamental importance to preserve the Well-Being of bullying victims.
