Olhar sociologicamente as prostitutas acompanhantes implica o confronto com quadros imagéticos e discursivos que parecem conferir uma representação aparentemente estável ao fenómeno e às suas protagonistas. Partimos, portanto, para a desocultação dos quadros heteroproduzidos que organizam a visibilidade social do fenómeno prostitucional e das mulheres prostitutas. Esses quadros não são apenas traçados nas esferas mediática e ficcional, no universo normativo jurídico-legal, ou no mundo dos discursos comuns quotidianos, são também construídos e matizados pelo pensamento das ciências sociais e da sociologia em particular. O que aqui se propõe é uma curta arqueologia do pensamento das ciências sociais sobre a prostituta. Percebendo-se como os discursos científicos integram processos de produção de visibilidade social, reiterando frequentemente a distinção entre mulheres não prostitutas e prostitutas. Na medida em que as semelhanças, os espaços de coabitação simbólica e social entre elas são irremediavelmente suplantados pela reafirmação das diferenças. Taking a sociological view of escort-girls implies confronting frameworks of discourse and image that seem to confer an apparently stable representation on the phenomenon and its protagonists. Accordingly, we set out with the aim of unveiling the hetero-produced frames that organize the social visibility of the prostitution phenomenon and women who work as prostitutes. These frameworks are not only traced out in the spheres of the media and fiction, in the normative universe of the law and legal practice or in the world of common everyday discourse but are also constructed and nuanced by the thinking of the social sciences and sociology in particular. What is proposed here is a short archaeology of social science thinking on prostitutes. With an understanding of how scientific discourse is part of the production processes of social visibility, often reproducing the distinction between women who are and are not prostitutes. Insofar as the similarities, the areas of symbolic and social cohabitation between them are irremediably surmounted by the reaffirmation of the differences.
