The Pediatric Asthma Caregiver’s Quality of Life Questionnaire (PACQLQ) scale has been utilized to evaluate the problems endured by caregivers of children with asthma. The caregiver’s quality of life has been assessed including normal day-to-day limitations and endured emotions with respect to feelings of anxiety and fear that relate to the disease. A study group of 211 caregivers with dependent children between 2 14 years of age that display symptomatic asthma and who attended an appointment at the Community Pediatrics in a Health Centre have been examined with the PACQLQ. A high internal consistency value (0.938) has been obtained and the construct validity has yielded new dimensions from the factor analysis. For the concomitant validity the PACQLQ and the MOS SF36 were applied simultaneously. Utilization of the Spearman correlation tests of the PACQLQ and MOS SF36 dimensions demonstrate low and moderate convergence between the Physical Function and Emotional Performance of the SF36 scale and in all the dimensions of the PACQLQ scale.
