Description
Based on an analysis of more than thirty original royal pardons, this paper focuses on crime and criminal offences in the late 15th century as well as actions taken by various orders of justice in the Serra da Estrela region, a mountainous area in Central Portugal. Through this local focus, the author seeks to recollect the main problems concerning crime and justice in Medieval Portugal.
