This paper reports on the activities related with remote monitoring of civil engineering structures currently under development in the Laboratory of Earthquake and Structural Engineering (LESE), mainly focusing on the case of a new stone masonry bridge fully instrumented for structural monitoring under service loading. Particular emphasis is put on the process of data acquisition, transmission and final availability through internet, while details of the instrumentation process are addressed elsewhere. The extension of this initiative and experience to other experimental activities of LESE is also referred in the framework of forthcoming e-teaching actions on civil engineering structures.
