Neste estudo pretendeu-se analisar os comportamentos inapropriados nas aulas de Educação Física, mais concretamente, sobre as atitudes e perceções dos alunos face a este tipo de comportamentos, bem como as razões que conduzem os alunos a realizá-los. Procurou-se também conhecer os fatores que influenciam a participação dos alunos nas aulas de Educação Física. Para tal, recorrendo a questionários e entrevistas, visou-se aferir as perceções de 23 alunos do 9º ano de escolaridade, quanto ao grau de gravidade dos comportamentos evidenciados nas aulas e as razões que os conduziram à realização destas condutas. De igual modo, foram identificados os fatores e as atitudes que influenciam a participação dos alunos nas aulas de Educação Física. O registo em vídeo permitiu observar os comportamentos inapropriados dos alunos. Em suma, os resultados obtidos apontam que: a) a maioria dos alunos da turma não atua em conformidade com a sua conceção do grau de gravidade dos comportamentos; b) a falta de motivação e interesse pelas matérias/tarefas e a perceção de competência, são as razões mais evocadas pela generalidade dos alunos como justificação dos seus comportamentos; c) as matérias abordadas nas aulas, bem como o nível de competência dos alunos são também fatores que mais influenciam a sua participação nas aulas. This study pretended to analyze the inappropriate behavior in Physical Education classes, specifically, about the attitudes and perceptions that students have address to this type of behavior, and the reasons that lead to realize them. It also sought to know the factors that influence the participation of the students in the Physical Education classes. To this end, questionnaires and interviews were used to evaluate the perceptions of 23 students from the 9th grade regarding the severity’s degree of the behaviors evidenced in the classroom and the reasons which led them to perform these conducts. Similarly, the factors and attitudes that influence student’s participation in physical education classes were identified. The video recording allowed us to observe the students’ inappropriate behaviors. In summary, the results indicate that: a) most students did not act in accordance with their perception of the conduct severity’s degree, b) lack of motivation and interest in issues / tasks and the conception of competence are the reasons more evoked by most students as a justification for their behavior c) the matters discussed in class as well as the students’ skills level are the other factors that influence their participation in class.
