O estudo que será apresentado de seguida tem como tema a “Autoestima de Docentes de Educação Física e Matemática do 2º e 3º Ciclo do Ensino Básico”.
Para a realização do estudo, foi definido como principais objetivos a motivação dos docentes, nomeadamente do grupo disciplinar de Educação Física e Matemática, ou seja, perceber se os professores destes dois grupos disciplinares se sentem satisfeitos profissionalmente. O cruzamento das informações provenientes das perceções dos docentes, grupos disciplinares de Educação Física e Matemática, bem como a sua satisfação profissional, permitirá compreender a relação que existe entre as mesmas, e que dizem respeito à interdependência professor/professor com a autoestima.
Para encontrar resposta a este objetivo, foi utilizado como instrumento de medida o questionário relativo à Escala de Autoestima Profissional realizado por Leitão, F. (2012). Para responder ao questionário, foram inquiridos 158 docentes, dos quais 50 são do género masculino e 108 do género feminino. No mesmo questionário encontra-se uma parte relativa à caracterização individual de cada sujeito inquirido.
Com a aplicação dos questionários, passámos à parte relativa ao tratamento de dados, onde foi possível perceber que dos grupos de professores inquiridos (Educação Física e Matemática), não se verificaram diferenças significativas nas hipóteses de estudo que foram estudadas. Apesar disso, é importante referir que as médias dos grupos disciplinares das quatro dimensões estudadas são elevadas, sendo a mais baixa de 4,50, numa escala que vai de 1 a 6. The following study aimed at determining the “Satisfaction and self-esteem of Physical Education and Mathematics teachers in 2nd and 3rd years of Primary School”. The research objective was to establish the key motivations of Mathematics and Physical Education teachers and to understand if they are professionally satisfied. The joint assessment of the professional's perceptions, from the disciplines of physical education and mathematics, and their professional fullfilment will allow one to understand the relationship between them, which is related to the interdepence teacher/teacher and their selfesteem. Our methodology consisted of a questionnaire based approach which utilized Leitão, F. (2012)’s scale of Professional Self-Esteem which allowed for a quantitative analysis. The sample consisted of 158 teachers, 50 males and 108 females. In the same questionnaire there was a second section aimed at individual characterization. The data analysis revealed there were no significant differences within two groups (Physical Education and Mathematics teachers) which supported our hypothesis. However, It should be noted that the mean score for the four aspects studied were considerably high, the lowest being 4,50 on a scale of 1 to 6. Orientador: Francisco Ramos Leitão
