Emphysematous cholecystitis (EC) is a rare and dramatic disease that requires prompt therapeutic procedures. The authors report a case of a 70-year-old-woman, admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for Infectious Diseases of the Santa Maria Hospital, with the diagnosis of EC.
