This article presents a study on the characteristics of Portugueseyouth tourism demand, such as students in Higher Education. Thesize and scope of the territorial sample collected allows acharacterization of this segment of demand, by Portugueseregions/NUT II. At the same time, it is possible to distinguish themain High students tourism motivations and the existence offactors that induce a territorial differentiation. It is important tonote that in Portugal this segment of tourism demand is quiteunexplored and more research is needed. Este artigo apresenta um estudo sobre as caraterísticas da procuraturística protagonizada pelos estudantes do ensino superior. A dimensão eabrangência territorial da amostra recolhida permitem uma caraterizaçãodeste segmento de procura, segundo as regiões/NUT II de Portugal, aomesmo tempo que tornam possível detetar as principais motivaçõesassociadas à viagem e a verificação de existência de fatores indutores dediferenciação nesta procura turística, em termos territoriais. É de salientarque o artigo em questão, ao circunscrever-se aos estudantes do ensinosuperior por regiões, aborda segmentos estudantis inexploradosanaliticamente, no contexto português.
