Description
A strain of Bacillus amiloliquefaciens was examined for antifungal activity against wood surface contaminant fungi, blue stain fungi and phytopathogenic fungi. The bacterium was grown in liquid culture media in batch or continuous culture, with different dilution rates, in order to study cell development and the production of metabolites with antifungal activity. The bacterium inhibited the growth of fifteen fungi and displayed a broader spectrum of activity. Artificial Neural Networks based approach was used in this study and a relationship between growth rate and the formation of metabolites with antifungal activity was detected.
