As atitudes materialistas das crianças e os valores procurados no vestuário

Este estudo, efectuado através de um questionário junto de 313 crianças, dos 6 aos 11 de anos de idade, procura avaliar as atitudes materialistas das crianças e os valores procurados no vestuário. O questionário resultou da aplicação e adaptação de duas escalas: (1) para o materialismo adaptou-se a escala de Richins (1987); (2) para os valores procurados no vestuário adaptou-se a escala de Prakash (1984). Os resultados evidenciam as atitudes materialistas das crianças. As crianças reconhecem a valor funcional e simbólico das suas roupas. Todavia, as crianças reconhecem o estilo (96,8%) e a moda (61,3%) como factores importantes no seu vestuário. Por outro lado, constatou-se existe uma relação positiva e significativa entre as atitudes materialistas e os valores procurados no vestuário.
